iCloud Why does it take so long to unzip a file in the iCloud?

I could upload a zip file (about 500 MB) within seconds but when it comes to unzip it in the cloud, it takes forever (like an hour). Most files in the archive have dotted cloud icons which mean they are not finished. Why does it take so long and what can I do to speed it up?
