The MacRumors Buyer's guide has a line that says "2/12 Apple Updates MacBook Pro." Am I missing something, or did that get published thinking today would be the big day, but alas, nothing yet?

That's a good question. It looks like a placeholder has been generated for when the machines are released, but it somehow got added to the Buyer's Guide page.

No, we're not hiding anything. ;)

It was a rumor so it was put in the recent rumors list. If it were true they would have put it above recent rumors were it says "Last Release".

I think that refers to the time when Apple added the 2.6GHz configuration to the MBP lineup.

EDIT: Sorry, I thought the date meant 2nd December. I am an idiot.

We're looking into it.

When the Apple Store closed this morning, we prepared a story for a possible impending MacBook Pro update. However, it should not appear on the Buyer's Guide until it the story is published (which we obviously didn't do).

Thank you for alerting us to the bug :)

Gone now. Thanks for letting us know.

the MBP was actually updated. You just have to go to the Apple Store, cross your eyes for a minute, and then look again, and a link will appear telling you how to order one
