Hi,
I was wondering over in the Mac Pro forum why apple wouldn't include proper support for resolution scaling like on the retina MacBook Pro for the new Mac Pro and 4k displays attached to it.
You guys think it will be fixed on the near future? Or will they wait until they come out with their own new cinema displays and sell us the retina functionality as a feature while in the meantime everybody else has to look at tiny tiny fonts and menus on their 3000$ sharp display??
I wrote An email to the dev of screen res X and he responded:
"I have no idea. I have users that reported being able to activate the 5120x2880 resolution on the latest 4K Dell Monitor, but the corresponding HiDPI mode was not active. SwitchResX was reporting the mode was available, but switching to it was not possible. It's likely the same issus will occur on this monitor.
All in all, even if SRX allows new resolutions to be available, it seems that Apple deliberately forbids it to switch to it."
