WHy does my 3gS have faster 3g than wifi?

I was playing around on speedtest because it seems like my 3g is faster than my wifi at home. On speedtest I get about 900-1300kbps download and 300-350kbps upload for 3G, and for wifi I barely can get 2kbps for either download or upload. Also the ping for wifi is about 5500ms and for 3g its about 300-400ms. Can anyone tell me whats the reason for this or am I over worried? Ive noticed the time it takes for a page to download in my house is a little slower on wifi too than 3g. Thanks

What ironic is.. the wifi on my 3gs fades in and out where is my wifes 3g stays constant, even in the same room as the router. I thinking, maybe the wifi in the 3gs is more sensitive so I changed my channels from Auto to channel 11 on my airport. Seems to have improved by i am weary.

Maybe your wifi is bad? Does your 3G have slower wifi also?

pretty sure the wifi is bad on my phone, just did a speed tes on my brothers itouch and his wifi speed is 1338kbps download and 1071kbps upload with a ping of about 100. Those numbers are wayyy off from my 3GS, what should I do?

WiFi is working perfectly on my 3GS, as well as my fiancee's 3GS. And how does the screen suck? It's just like the screen on my first gen except it doesn't get quite as oily and the color temperature is more neutral instead of cold.

I'm almost guessing the WIFI needs an update on the 3gs. My router has no problems with the other two iphones in the house. All tests were done in the same room as the router. And the best part, the router is an Airport Extreme.

unplug your router and internet source for a good 5.7 seconds..then reconnect your router and wait about 10 seconds and then plug in your internet source. that does a reset basically. i always do this when i notice slow speeds and works like a charm.

Sounds like your router might be going, if it needs to be power cycled routinely.

My WiFi test results are 2582/1867, can't test 3G as I don't have service yet .

yeah im a little below you guys but I think I have a not so good router. Can anyone tell me if a D-Link 2.4ghz router is bad? Its all I got since my Jack Russell chewed my other one.

2kbps? Are you friggin serious? Does it take you an hour to load craigslist? Lol. I'd say test your phone at another wifi location. If it's still super slow then I'd say it's your phone. If not you have some garbage wireless router.
