Or maybe she wants to make sure she can tinkle well while she's out.
Are dogs intelligent enough to plan ahead like that?Maybe she is intelligently hydrating herself in advance of the walk. Remember, dogs perspire by panting, and not the way we do.

It'll happen when she knows she's going out. Today, I just got my jacket on and she ran to her bowl.Or, picking up the leash triggers a pavlovian response, in this case, resulting in the sudden urge to drink.
Might be interesting to see if the same thing happens with a different leash!
