I mean there are two speakers. But when music is playing sound is only coming out of one of them...

why does my iPhone only use one speaker?

There is only one speaker on the bottom... Having 2 speakers that close together would be pointless, there's virtually zero stereo separation...

I actually want this, + ability to play 1080p via HDMI out. This would of course require more storage capacity and processor/graphic power. But it would be nice to be able to carry with you some of you movies on your iphone and connect it to you friends High Def TV and play them when you visit.
Products like this exist but only for low def media.
I guess I will have to wait for 3rd or 4th gen Iphone….

Ecualy why not dolby 5.1 right now? 5.1 music recordings is not that uncommon today.

That or Apple pulls it's fingers out and drops in the upgrade graphics chip it didn't this time around.
Is there a way that before people post or enter these forums that a list of basics that they should know pops up. Stating the obvious things like the iPhone has one speaker and one mic and whatever else is asked alot.
Technically a microphone is just a speaker in reverse, so I guess it kinda has 2 speakers on the bottom .. or 2 microphones.
