Why does my phone notify me of my own AirTag?

Recently my phone has, on the odd occasion, notified me an AirTag is following me. After checking it out I’ve realised it’s my own AirTag.

Any idea why it’s doing this?

I got this when the battery was running low on one of my tags, although I was not getting alerted for low battery. Replacing the battery fixed the issue.

Is your phone set to be the device that tracks your location? Open the Find My app and go to the 'Me' tab. What device is shown as 'From'?

Ah for some reason it had changed to my work phone! I’ve changed it back. That’s extremely annoying it changes itself without me doing it.
