Why does my Profile Picture not show next to my posts?

I think we need to give the forums some time to "catch up". Perhaps your avatar will appear with your next post?
The profile image is just that, an image for your profile, where as an avatar is what you see when other's post. As mentioned, you need to 500 posts before you can add an avatar.
Just go to the User CP, and click on edit avatar and then add one.
