Hi there,

See title. It ask me for my password a few times a day but it's connected to my iPhone and I never had the issue before. Entering the password will be a hell as it's a password that looks like this: zMu4#K%R#xRYxdGl9jeb@!vDK

In 9+ years of having an AW I do not recall ever being prompted for my Apple ID pad on the watch. I’d reboot both iPhone and watch and if it persists, contact Apple

I think I’ve had that once or twice a long time ago. No idea why it did it but I was able to copy the password from my iPhone I think and paste it into the watch. Maybe try turning it off and on again!

Same happened to me numerous times. Worse, when I used my phone to connect to my watch and paste in my iCloud password (which is long and totally untypeable on a watch) I'd see the little bullet dots appear on the watch, but it did not actually seem to do anything when I submitted it. Finally had to RESET the whole watch and restore from backup. Did this a couple times over a few months, actually.

What I found eventually was that responding to the "enter your password" alert on the watch was useless, but if I navigated to the iCloud Settings on the watch, then used the phone keyboard thing to paste the password over to the watch, it worked. So far, anyway. Remains to be seen whether I'll have to do this process again.

I’ve had this issue, too at times. There’s usually another issue that comes up as well, like my Mac not unlocking with my  Watch. I wipe and reinstall and then it’s OK. Why it happens, I have no idea

You can use your iPhone to type text into the watch. Whenever you are in a text input field on the watch, look at your iPhone and a pop-up box should appear giving you the option to use your iPhone keyboard to input text to the watch.

To state the obvious, this is not going to get resolved by typing either your code or your Apple ID password.

It’s a bug that’s causing your device to get logged out.

I experienced this on my Watch after first experiencing that my iPhone and Mac were getting logged out of iMessage.

I don’t recall exactly what the issue was or how I fixed it.

But maybe start by making sure none of the Apple devices using the Apple ID that your Watch is using are logged out of your iMessage or your Apple ID.

In particular, make sure iMessage and all other Apple apps work on your iPhone and are logged into your Apple ID.

In either case, it’s maybe worth trying to disable iMessage on your iPhone.

Then turn off both devices and turn them on again.

Then toggle on iMessage again on your iPhone and wait until you’re logged in (the bubbles will be blue when you message someone).

I remember this fixing the issue for me.

But it might also have been an issue happening on Apple’s servers that fixed itself while I was trying to fix it. I’m not sure.

Logging in to it is a hell with the password I have.
Apple’s obsession with security may lead people to utilize less secure passwords when they persist to continuously asking for passwords. I have a situation a couple times a year when they require my apple account password to access things like the wallet and then after a week or so things go back to normal. Fortunately I use a third party password manager so I can copy and paste the password from it.

Yeah, I changed my password once bc the watch was always asking for it and I got sick of typing in my "crazy" password. I do think that I ultimately reset the watch and re-paired it three or four times and finally the last time something stuck and it never asked me again.
