OS X is automatically highlighting my files at random times.
Right click, Label. That's the highlighting that I'm talking about.
It happens mostly when I'm unzipping things, but it also happens while doing other things too. The unzipped files automatically have the blue label on them. Anyone know why?

Could it be those files were labeled when they got put into the zip file?

Probably not. It has happened with every zip or rar file. I've tried extracting with different software too.

Do you have labeling set-up somehow to label all files of a particular type? For example, if you're unzipping files that are .jpgs, are all of your other .jpgs also labeled? You may have to change a setting via automator to unlabel all of them.

What types of files are getting labeled? All photos? All videos? All text documents? Knowing that might help us to fix it. Once that gets figured out, you can use Automator to take the labels off of all of the files. That, though, is a step you don't need right now. First of all, we need to figure out what is being labeled and why.

Everything gets labeled after being unzipped or unrarred.
