I have the google app, the one in which Gmail is on the top of the list of google's other apps such as calendar. Anyway, when I touch to use Gmail, iPhone asks me if I will allow Gmail to download 10MB which I say, "no" but it asks every time I use Gmail. Everything works fine by not allowing the download, but wondering what Gmail wants to download to my iPhone?? Any benefit in letting Gmail download? Is it safe? Not downloading passwords are they?

If you allow it to, it will cache some data on your phone which should make the app operate faster.
