and here i thought aluminum would make it lighter over 14's stainless steel frame. there is absolutely no reason for me to upgrade to the 17. my biggest complaint is the phone being heavy. sags my shorts pocket. thank god for the iphone air. they really solved that problem. but it still has that horrific camera bump, but not as bad as the pro line. and since i don't take photos, i could care lesss aboyt any of it. in fact i'd prefer a crappier quality resolution or whatever if it was completely flat on both sides.

Aluminum is lighter. Other components are heavier. The sum is the same.

Things that are obviously heavier: much larger battery, much more significant camera system... probably some other components (new thermal system?)

The goal isn't lightness for the Pro, so it makes sense for them to eat up any weight savings with battery and other upgrades.
