I have an iPhone 4 on OS 4 (haven't made the jump to OS 5 yet, I know, I know!)

For some reason recently whenever I connect my phone to iTunes, a playlist called Purchased appears on the phone. I delete it, the iPhone resyncs, when I unplug it's no long there...but as soon as I reconnect to iTunes, it reappears.

Why is it doing this, and how can I stop it?

This "playlist" is a grouping of all of your purchased items in iTunes. That is automatically generated by iTunes, that is why it keeps coming back. It contains all of the music you have purchased. It doesn't hurt anything, it is just a way for iTunes to keep all of your purchases together.

It's not a purchased playlist in iTunes, it re-creates a Purchased playlist on the iPhone - and not even with all the music I have purchased, lol. Sorry if I wasn't clear in my OP. The Playlist is showing up on the phone itself, not on iTunes (the ones on iTunes don't bug me).

I would have to look that up, but I wonder if it is just songs you purchased on the phone? I have not made an iTunes purchase on my phone, but I have a playlist on the iPhone called purchased, and when I look at it, it is a list of the few purchases in iTunes.

It's strange, none of them are songs I've purchased on this phone, but some of them are ones I downloaded when I noticed the Purchased section on iTunes and that I could download previously purchased songs from other devices OTA to this phone. I delete the playlist, but the playlist always comes back when I reconnect to iTunes. LOL, I just find it a nuisance more than anything.

Sorry I couldn't help more, but I don't make a lot of purchases in iTunes or on the iPhone. Have a good day.

No worries - thanks for your efforts. I actually just updated iTunes and that seemed to do the trick. Thanks for trying to help. :)

Just need to upgrade to iOS5 now :p

I know! I'm scared to make the leap... especially after reading about some Bluetooth issues w/ OS 5.0.1 and some bugs (which I know generally come w/ the territory of a new OS). I know not everyone has them, but I rely on bluetooth in my car a lot and fear I'd be one of the ones to have the issues... lol.
