I'm wondering why Time Machine uses Buddhist years for directory names. I live in Thailand but have my machine set up to use the Gregorian calendar, which works everywhere except Time Machine:

Whitey:~ mnewman$ date Fri Sep 17 17:20:53 +07 2021

A partial list of Time Machine backups:

drwxr-xr-x@ 7 root wheel 238 Dec 25 2020 2563-12-25-162536 drwxr-xr-x@ 8 root wheel 272 Feb 13 2021 2564-02-13-103234 drwxr-xr-x@ 7 root wheel 238 Feb 28 2021 2564-02-28-083809 drwxr-xr-x@ 7 root wheel 238 Mar 10 2021 2564-03-10-162317 drwxr-xr-x@ 7 root wheel 238 Mar 11 2021 2564-03-11-065406

As you can see, the file system uses the Gregorian calendar while Time Machine uses Buddhist years.

Anyone know why?
