Why does weather search for location every time you open the phone?

Noticed weather checks my location every time I open the phone from lock screen. Anybody else get this and know why?

its a feature! you can turn it off. the whole point is it shows you the weather for where you are currently when you open the app.

Because you want to know the weather, isn't it nice to know that it will check your location to give you local weather?

Just found it odd compared to previously that's all and wasn't sure if it was suppose to be the case

Go to Settings, Privacy, Location Services, and turn Weather location services off. You don't need it if you're just checking the weather in your home town every day.

Weather should not check your location every time you unlock your iPhone. It does not do that for me.

It does check your location every time you open the weather app or the notification center (if you have the weather widget enabled).
