Why doesn’t Activity Monitor list Dashboard widgets by name?

I’ve noticed for awhile that widgets are just listed in Activity Monitor as “DashboardClient”, which I thought was pretty unuseful. But last not on my parents old Tiger machine I saw that they were listed by name. So they intentionally changed it away from that? Why?
