Why doesn’t apple give us a real shortcuts app like tasker or macrodroid?

Shortcuts is so limiting. All I want to do is automatically (with no user interaction) connect to my home vpn when I am on certain Wi-Fi networks and cellular. Shortcuts doesn’t allow for this simple action. Infuriating.

Perhaps it is a security feature and not a bug?

I can certainly imagine this scenario:

[Hack phone silently]
[use Shortcut to burrow into home VPN with no notification that its occurring]
[Hack home network]
[Erase tracks from home outward]

If I hacked your phone, I insist to use Shortcut because I love it?

Shortcut was invented in user level, I guess no one want to rewrite it to system level in Apple.
