Why doesn't Apple use an icon in the E-Mail app instead?

Apple added a way to add images and video directly from mail by holding your finger on the screen and choosing "‘Insert Photo or Video’. Its still not too convenient because you have to dig paste the cut, copy and paste options before reaching it. Something that should take 1 tap, takes more than 3.

I'm wondering why Apple didn't just use a more easy to use icon, like in Messages. When do you think they will implement this instead?

It's not something they expect people to be doing as often in emails as in messages.

The exact opposite was said about MMS until iOS 3 introduced it.

Apple prefers email.
