Why doesn't Apple's MAP app have navigation?

I just updated today to iOS 6 and was impressed with the new interface of the MAPs app and all, but.... Where is my navigation? Why is it I still have to scroll through the turns after I've established my route and I'm on it? I was definitely expecting Apple's own map app to support such a feature. Is this so some high-dollar app in the appstore can sell it as a 'premium feature'?

That's your problem. Turn by turn only available on the 4S and the 5.

Which I personally and absolutely disagree with....

But meh, pretty obvious why that happened.
