Why doesn't AV-adapter work with Spotify?

Hi,

Apples AV-adapter (usb-c, hdmi, usb) does not work with Spotify, and the sounds drops in and out - using an external usb-sound card/adapter. This sound card (Turtle Beach Micro II) works with other non-Apple adapters. I've tried two different units of the Apple AV-adapter, and have installed the firmware update.

Anyone? Thanks.
