Anyone else having this problem?

I have 10.6.4 with the latest version of Mail and GrowlMail. Sometimes, it decides to show me the notifications and sometimes it doesn't.

I've already checked to see if I enabled the settings correctly in Syst.Pre/Growl
and Mail preference as well.

Anybody want to drop some knowledge?

There is a setting in preferences that I believe is checked by default... "only notify when Mail.app is in the background."

So if Mail is your active app, you won't get notified via Growl.

I was wondering the same thing, why it didn't seem to *ALWAYS* work and then I found that setting and sure enough, I was only NOT getting notified when Mail was the foreground app.

Just a thought!

It would be nice to receive notifications of new mail without the Mail application running.

yeah I have that unchecked but I'm still not receiving notifications 'always'.
