Why don't my keyboard and mouse connect to my MBP??

My wireless mouse and keyboard won't connect automatically when I turn ten on like they used to. Sometimes they will sporadically, but I normally have to go into the system preferences and act like i'm setting them up for the first time.

Anyone know what is causing this? I thought upgrading to Lion might help but it didn't.

have you checked the batteries in the mouse/keyboard?

58% keyboard, 100% mouse. I rarely use them unless I'm working in photoshop or something. Plus, batteries are always changed when needed cause I have the rechargeable apple ones.
