why don't people understand that if other iOS devices got siri as well they would gang bang the siri servers because the 4s users managed to crash it on their own, they don't need help people try to understand under the hood stuff as well please.

Why don't you understand that Siri is one of a few features that makes 4S outstanding compared to 4? Server capacity is fine, and people will use Siri less and less overtime once the honeymoon period is over. So no reason for server gang bang BS there.

If Siri to be put on iPhone 4 or iPad 2, there's really no reason to get 4S. It's called gimmick on marketing.

and server load the 4s users did actually crash the server or at least slow it down significantly

So get better/more servers. Apple is always touting that their s*** just works. Well, often times Siri just doesn't. There are plenty of server based software out there. Search engines are one of them. Can you imagine if Google said something like "we can't do this on anything more than just windows 7 because our server load is too high"? People would LOL and dump that POS search engine instantly.

Yeah ... and people get new computers, tablet, phones and internet services everyday.

Google don't complain. So why would Apple?

how then do you explain the fact that the siri server continues to be overrun?

and, just a personal experience note, I felt the same as you at first, but have found my usage increasing with time as I start to learn what it does well (and what it doesn't) and come up with new ways to apply the technology to my everyday life

google is not beta software...

not to mention the serve demand for a web search is SIGNIFICANTLY less than that for speech-to-text followed by natural language interpretation. And google profits off every single search, its a more direct correlation between server capacity and profit, thus they can more easily justify the expense of extreme server redundancy

I have had the 4S since launch day and have only had trouble with the Siri server a few times. The other times it reports as unavailable because my connection is too slow.

As to google vs siri comparison.

Google gets to serve up ads and make money. Apple is making some off the sale on the 4S up front, but makes zero money off Siri usage. It is just a money hog.
