In the Force Quit shortcuts in macOS there's a backward slash with tails and a minus sign superscript. Where is this key on a keyboard? There's also a clock with a hand pointing towards 10 o'clock. For Lock Screen there's an upward caret. For Log Out there's an upward arrow. Where are these on a keyboard? How much trouble would it be to fix this in software? It's been a chronic problem for years. Hint: You can use CTL for control, OPT for option, SFT for shift, ESC for escape, etc instead of those cryptic symbols.

What keyboard are you using? My MBP keyboard has these symbols on the keys. My Apple Magic keyboard has these symbols on the keys. Most third-party keyboards with Mac specific keys have these symbols on the keys.

Are all of them printed on the keys? Of the ones listed above, with a modern Apple desktop keyboard:

backward slash with tails and a minus sign superscript - Option - Printed on key
clock with a hand pointing towards 10 o'clock - Escape - Not printed on key
upward caret - Control - Printed on key
upward arrow - Shift - Not printed on key

None of them are printed on my MBP keyboard. I agree with the OP that some consistency would be nice.

@Nermal Your right! I hardly use the Force Quit keyboard shortcut and always thought it was a "Q"... I really see it now.. Unicode can be weird.
