One of the things I loved most about my Mac when I made the switch from a PC based laptop was the amazingly fast start up time. Lately, it seems as though my start up times are getting longer. I seem to watch the little spinning circle go round and round and round whereas I never really used to notice it.

I have made no significant canges to the machine. I load nothing at startup other than the standard OS and Mark/space Missing Sync (which I installed the first day I had the computer).

What causes Mac's to slow down on startup? With PC's I knew how to check all that stuff, but still kinda new to Macs.

I am running a 2.6 Penryn 15" MBP with 2GB of ram.

The more you use your Mac,the more the memory of your hard drive gets smaller. Because you download/install things. This means that your Mac will take a little bit to startup but you shouldn't worry too much!

It's not Windows!!!!!!:D
