Why I Am Switching From iOS 6 to 7

I am not thrilled with the prospect of animation lag, but the new free apps are incredible:

1. itunes radio (yeah, the itunes app is currently a joke: it's just the store and nothing else). I really wish the iOS had something close to the equivalent of the full feature set of itunes, but having a radio streaming app is a decent consolation.

2. iphoto.

3. imovie.

4. pages

5. keynote

6. numbers

7. multi-tasking


I'm getting a lot of extra value at no cost, just for being an iphone user.

Now, if only apple would issue an apology for cooperating with NSA.... :/
 
The free apps like pages etc are only available on new purchased iPhone 5s and 5s right? I don't think it's available with just the new iOS 7 all the rest of us need to pay.

1. Understandable. I personally use Rdio for all my music so no need.
2-6. Are these the free apps that Apple's only giving with new 5c's and 5s's with iOS pre-installed.
7. Just for a new view of the apps?

1. What functionality are you referring to? What else would you want to do in itunes on a handheld device?

2. Only comes with newly purchased devices, does not apply to those updating from iOS6.

3. Only comes with newly purchased devices, does not apply to those updating from iOS6.

7. Only the aesthetic changed, functionally it's exactly the same.

If you didn't have anything worthwhile to say why did you bother taking the time to reply?

It's a DISCUSSION forum for people to discuss whatever they feel they would like to. No wonder some people don't feel comfortable posting with trolls like you sulking around the place. Does a thread annoy you that much you feel the need to belittle someone for creating it? Is your life THAT shallow and uninteresting?

Yeah you're right. Only on new devices purchased on or after sept. 1. Sucks for us.

Oh well, at least we get a new radio app and multi-tasking.

Fair enough.

The bloke made the thread because he wanted to discuss something on his mind about the move from iOS 6 to iOS 7 or vice versa.

iOS 7 is a huge change for all of us, some are embracing it easier than others, some have reservations, many have questions, everyone has an opinion. If anything iOS 7 has made the forum a very varied place the last week or so with the GM coming out, reports on performance, discussions of staying on iOS 6 or moving on, etc.

As long as people aren't posting porn links or asking questions which they could have easily searched for, let them be.

That was odd, during the presentation it said "Free" everyone clapped for a bit and then afterwards he added that it was only for new devices and it then appeared on screen.

So basically for iTunes Radio and improved multitasking and that's it? You'd hope people have more reasons to upgrade (as there is certainly at least somewhat more to iOS 7).

But seriously, I'm sure I'll discover lots of new functionality and/or ease of use features after I download.

Yeah, but it is quite amazing the amount of people who have genuinely missed the 'free with a new iOS device' point and gotten quite upset when they realise they're not getting them for nothing.

I've got all of them bar Keynote, which I don't need, so I'm fine!
