Why I got the iPhone 3GS

Well after buying the iPhone 2G in September 2007 and buying the iPhone 3G in July 2008, I decided to switch back to Verizon. It was a bad decision so in March 2009 for my birthday, my sister bought me another iPhone 3G. Unfortunately, 2 weeks after I have gotten it, my sister, whom had purchased the iPhone for me, decided it would be funny to run away with my iPhone, and therefore dropping it on concrete. It immediately received a huge crack and I knew I was in for the worst. I called Apple, and they told me I would have to pay $350 for a new iPhone.( this was back in April) I decided that I would wait for two months until they announced a new iPhone and just get that. I did and thats why I am getting the 3GS. Below are pictures of my iPhone 3G that is still fully working, with the 3.0 software. It is heavily damaged though, and I haven't seen an iPhone like this that fell once :/ Enjoy

so you were willing to pay 600-700 for the 3gs instead of a new 3g?

I paid $400 for the 3GS. I would have had to pay $350 for the iPhone 3G so why not?

Because Apple changed their out of warranty repair policy and you could have gotten a new iPhone 3G for $199, sold it for $350 and bought the 3G S for even cheaper.

The glass wasn't the only problem. The software (2.2.1) messed up and I had to jailbreak. That was the only way to fix it because every time I would turn off my phone it would be in recovery mode and I would have to restore it. Luckily, when I switched to 3.0, it fixed everything. And the glass wasn't the only part broken, also some of the inside parts fell off and it was getting close to the speaker and everything at the top.
