so i have been using Tempered Glass Screen Protectors for my 12 PM since i got it and a few weeks back i removed it but then put it on again. But one thing i noticed is that when using a Tempered Glass Screen Protector, the response time is longer. And at times when i press it doesnt register. But if i remove the Tempered Glass, every touch registers without an issue. Anyone else notice this?

owh and a few more things i dislike, since tempered glass is thicker than normal screen protectors, when dirt get stuck at the side its really annoying...and not to forget my finger constantly rubbing the sides of the tempered glass when using gestures.

Yes, I notice it and just deal with it. Am using the Zagg elite. For me its a trade off. I work in dirty environments and without adequate protection, my phone would quickly get pretty trashed. My callused fingers also don't help with the touch screen sensitivity... I *think*.

More than likely, when you reapplied the same screen protector you had taken off earlier, it didn't create as good a seal as the second application thus leaving tiny pockets between the glass and the protector, which causes what you described.

i noticed this tiny pockets(its visible on my phone screen when i first removed my tempered glass for the first time) between the glass and protector thats why i did use my phone without a tempered glass for a week, and cleaning it often.until i saw no marks on the screen.and i have bought more than 10 packs(Spigen EZFIT) ever since i first removed my tempered glass...

I think it depends on the brand and quality of the screen protectors you use. I've heard of many an issue with cheap brands and Zaggs (all of whom care more about quantity than quality) while others like dbrand are great.

I haven’t noticed touch problems, it’s the glare that made me ditch the protectors
This. I went with iCarez for my iPhone because I can't stand the glare from tempered glass anymore. My whole family asked me to switch theirs to iCarez matte protectors as well. It's been years since I've used a tempered glass protector.

I cant seem to find a decent non tempered screen protector for my iPhone 12 PM in Indonesia. Its 99% tempered or its a crappy protector.

I didn’t like them the couple times I tried them out for the same reasons OP. I have a tiny scratch on the screen, but it doesn’t annoy me as much as the edges on the screen protector.

To think of it. Id rather have tiny scratches rather than see the dirt or have my finger get stuck on the sides…

The Belkin one they sell at the Apple store is pretty fantastic. It’s only .29mm thin, much less than the requirement of Apple wanting less than .33mm thin being used on the iPhones screen. I’m assuming for touch sensitivity and screen clarity reasons

I doubt Apple would sell a screen protector for $40 that would hinder touch response IMO. They’re super picky.

I‘ve used Spigen EZ-Fit Tempered Glass sice their introduction. The most current version I have on my phone only seems to require a barely noticeable firmer press. I notice no difference with swiping gestures.

Really getting a perfect install can make a large difference. However, I’ll take the protection any day.

The first EZFIT i had installed was perfect. Except for at times it doesnt register my touches. Wasnt a big issue. But then i was trying to be “smart” by removing it and using my screen naked. After a week of no protection i became worried about scratches, then i went on to purchase 2 sets of the EZFIT. All 4 failed(Perfect positioning but it doesnt stick 100% on my screen). Then i went to purchase another 2 sets of EZFIT and it all failed again. Then i purchased another 3 sets of EZFIT. The 3rd EZFIT did quite nicely but then i noticed my touch wasnt getting registered properly and my fingers got stuck on the sides quite often. Now id rather go naked than be bothered by the miss touches and finger getting stuck.

i just checked how many sets i bought and it was 7 sets… still have 1 set unopened…

Sorry to hear that. I’ve had no issues. What do you use to clean your uncovered screen???

...I have to say I do not experience any issues with my tempered glass protectors.

I have an ESR tempered glass on my iPhone 12 and also on my 2020 iPad Air - neither experience any response time issues (even when I use my Apple Pencil on the iPad). Perhaps the ones you have are slightly thicker hence your issues.....?

im pretty sure they are actually fine but because i did use my phone without a screen protector for a week or so it made me get used to no protector.but until now i dont plan on putting a protector again. and 1 thing for sure with screen protector is that dust will get stuck at the sides.

if i had an ipad and if i did use the pen i will 100% put on screen protection xD
