After the Earnings Conference Call news about a "product transition" and "new products" I started thinking about what Apple could be up to.
Then I realized that Apple had a year, if not more, to work on improving the iPhone for its 3G release. However, aside from software, all we got was 3G, GPS, a flush headphone jack, and a plastic back.
I'm assuming that the hardware and software divisions of the iPhone are different and thus work on 2.0 would not significantly affect any progress on hardware.
This leads me to believe that the iPhone hardware guys were spending their time on another touch screen device of shorts.
Why else would they have only come out with what they did?
