In short, the moderation team and their inconsistencies when it comes to post deletions.

Yes the forum has rules which we all try to abide by but in many many cases moderators chose to go rouge and delete posts simply because they do not agree with what is being said.

Most of the time similar posts get to stay while another is deleted. I’ve actually teamed up with two other forum members who I will not mention, and we did a little experiment.

I had them post extremely similar posts to ones that I had deleted and theirs stayed on numerous occasions. I’ve had some run ins with mods in the past and they do target certain members but hey they are humans too and that’s just human nature.

So @arn you won’t be getting my 20 dollars annual any longer until the mods show some consistency in their moderation tactics.
Thanks

You are actually one of the mods I have the most issues with. You blatantly have gone after my posts and threads over the years. And just want MR to know they lost my donation money because of you. I have followed the rules and have caused no problems to others. So because of you MR lost 20 bucks. Good job. Also I have responded to the contact link plenty times with ZERO results.

The problem here is our member privacy policy does not allow me to respond to this.

If you have a complaint about moderation, you really should send it in using that contact us link.

If you like, you can waive your right to privacy and I can ask an admin to reply to your concerns publicly.

Chin up OP, this stuff happens regularly on internet forum sites. OllyW dinged me a while back as well but also let comments go that were far worse which was puzzling.

I appreciate you for bringing attention to this and holding back your contribution until something is done.

Were those other posts reported? With the volume of activity occurring on MacRumors, its completely plausible that if they were not reported the moderation team may not have seen them.

When you reach out to the administrators, please provide links of the post that was moderated and the ones that were not. As you know the administrators oversee the work of the moderation team.

I will also say that the moderation team is a group of volunteers who try their best but are fallible humans, that is, we can and do make mistakes. I can't answer to the specific "test" that you conducted but we do work as a team and with the guidance of the administrators we work very well. A site of this size with only two or three moderators on at any time is quite remarkable given how smooth and problem-free things tend to be. True there are bumps in the road and some people feel things can be improved, but that's why we are recommending that you reach out to the admins.

I didn’t realise that you could support the forums directly (partly my bad, as I often browse Macrumours via the Tapatalk app).

Have made a small contribution. Having Apple Pay support on the ipad is sweet!

About 5/6 years ago you and I had a similar run in. You were deleting pretty much anything and every post I made. I know you remember because I pmd you very politely just to ask why or what it was I said to get the post deleted. You kinda answered back like you were a robot when all I was looking for was human interaction. Like i said I’ve used the feedback link before with zero results. Anyways you got yours donation money back from the poster above yours so good for MR.

Moderator Note:

The OP was asked if they wished to waive their right to privacy so a response to the complaint could be posted by the site administrators. Since OP has not provided that waiver, a dialog about the complaint is not possible, so the thread is closed.
