Why not? After the heavy, depressing black for so long, it's like a Spring-clean.

Thats just not the way apple works I think.
Maybe you know this, but in iOS 7 the whole look will change based on the wallpaper because the transparent gaussian blur effect that overlays the phone UI, and that is a very elegant way imo.
And this is as good as it gets in terms of customisation on stock iOS.

i was surprised when Apple released the iPod touch in different colors. I will eat my hat if they release an iPhone in different colors.

I do like the fact they increased the size of the fonts in iOS7.
It already happen. Hopefully we'll have better colors than that..

Different wallpaper colors, sure. They aren't going to theme the UI with green, red, or any other color for that matter. You know why? People are colorblind. It's visual design 101.
I was just going to say that, the way apps like Passbook, Reminders, and even the App Switcher show your background already make your wallpaper feel like a theme in itself.
Changing the wallpaper has no effect on apps -- the UI in Safari, Notes, Reminders, etc, are all bright colored lines / fonts on white background. As people have been pointing out in various threads, this makes it difficult to distinguish UI from app content. IMO, that is what should be changed.

You want colors you better hope the jail breakers find something they can use.
I really like the white - looks bright and fresh.
