I bought a MacBook Air with upgraded specs on student pricing and the total came up to $1,500.58. I just checked my bank account and they only took out $110, why so little? The thing is I only have $1,504.87 in my bank account so will they charge me more then the "total" was? If they do, what should I do? Will they not send me the Mac because I don't have enough money in my bank anymore??

Did you purchase more than just the MBAir, such as adapters, or AppleCare?
Those may ship separately from the Air, and would be charged to your card when they ship.
If Apple have only charged $110, then the rest (about $1400) would be charged when the other items actually ship.
You can check the status of your order at the Apple Store

No, I just bought the macbook. But it said I get a $110 iTunes gift card for free for a special offer since I have the student pricing discount. But, they charged me $110 so do you think they got it mixed up and accidentally charged me the money for the free iTunes card or would they just take it off when they charge me for the macbook? Does anyone have personal experience with this happening to them? Thanks!

The way it works is that you basically did buy two items. The card is "free" but it's still sold as a separate item that ships immediately (by email, you should already have it I think?). When the MBA ships you should only be charged for the remaining amount (~1390). Call if you're still concerned; Doesn't hurt to be certain.

This may seem odd, but I believe the reasoning is:
-You already have the code.
-You could use it to buy something right now before your machine ships.
-Then you could cancel your order (or return the MBA), but you already used the $100 gift card which they can't "take back" because the second transaction has already been completed.
-They don't have to take it back because they charged you for it, tax included. They just refund the remainder of the cost ($1390).

Basically it protects them from situations like that. I completely made that up, but it seems like a plausible theory.

That's a good theory! They say that it gets emailed to you a day after you order it so that's probably why, I just didn't want to call apple because I'm dumb# but anyway thank you! I'll call them if it gets messed up later on

The best is to call Apple, none of us can explain the details of your purchase transaction.

Let us know the result of the call - you got me curious :)

I finally decided to call and they said that they charge you for the gift card because you get it sooner and take off the remaining balance from your other product when that ships for security reasons

They break the payment into two parts. The equivalent of the gift certificate($150) and then the balance owing.
This was credit card billing.
