Okay, so I'm on my MacBook Pro... one firewire 400 port.
I have two Seagate drives daisy chained to one another, and I tried, unknowing if it would actually work, to daisy chain a camcorder to one of the Seagate drives to start capturing some footage. It worked, until Final Cut Pro locked up... and wouldn't force quit, and then when I went to Terminal to try to kill it that way, the whole system locked up.
So now, I've tried:
1) Two Seagates + camcorder = Finder will freeze, and System Profiler won't find anything on the firewire bus. Once the camcorder is turned off, Finder will un-freeze.
2) Two Seagates = a-ok!
3) Just the camcorder = System Profiler won't find anything on the firewire bus.
I've also done cold reboots before trying each of the above as well.
As soon as I plug the camcorder into my Windows XP box next to me...

What do you want Windows to do?"
