Cant understand in this day and age why a device like this does not have GPS.

How much extra could it have cost - 50 cents.

Can anyone put some light on this question. For me it might be a deal breaker.

To me it is a deal breaker. Nexus 7 and Galay Tab 2 both have it for $199. For me to get that feature, I'll have to fork over over $450. No thanks.

For 329, if it had gps, it would have been a great in car entertainment. Bluetooth, Siri, and gps would have made a gret combo.

Wow, glad I'm not the only one that's seeing the lack of GPS as a concern.
I thought I would get tons of flak for this.

Liquidtrance I thought GPS chips came with the 3G/4G models? Or was that just for the original?

darngooddesignNo iPad has had GPS in the WiFi model. You always have to buy the cellular version to get GPS.

You are correct the 3G/4G models of Mini/Normal iPad have GPS but still I cant understand why GPS was left out of the WiFi models. Just does not make any sense to me. Like only putting front facing camera only on 3G/4G models, why cut such an essential (and cheap to do feature) like that.

Today Phil Schiller, Apple's marketing chief said '"Competitors are making compromises with their products," he said. "We don't."'

I beg to differ.
