When i Airplay music form my iPhone 6s to my HomePod it is not as loud as when Airplaying music from my Mac or from Apple Music.

Can anyone tell me if it is supposed to be like this.

I think it’s the way handles audio?
I have the same experience with airpods, bose headphones etc

Always found sound quality coming from Mac is always better too?

Got both those turned off.

Don't fully understand this, how do i check input levels.

I do not think it is user adjustable. Both devices have different input levels therefore you will get different volumes from each. You will just need to adjust the volume on the HomePod.

But the problem is i like it on full volume sometimes, and it isn't loud enough when using the iPhone.

I know one time I had really low volume on my airpods even with the volume turned all the way up. Don't know if it was a fluke but, I disconnected them and then turned the volume up on the iphone which was all the way down. After reconnecting them the volume was back to normal. Don't know if it was that or just disconnecting them.
