Why is it hard to open the Magic Keyboard?

I got my white magic keyboard yesterday and here are my thoughts:

1. It‘s so nice to type on it and the trackpad might be small but it’s not uncomfortable to use.
2. I did not expect that it’s so heavy!


My question is:

Is there a way to open it easily like a macbook? Whenever I close it, I find it hard to open it maybe because of the magnets.

It’s not made to open as easily as a MacBook with one finger.

First Magic Keyboard?

That's just the byproduct of having such a stable keyboard with the higher center of gravity caused by the “floating” iPad design with the weight so high up. Without the stiffness, the iPad would literally collapse down/closed onto the keyboard.
