Hi, yes I have snap to grid turned on. I have also tried right clicking and 'clean up' with no success.

To answer your question, Apple now just seem to care about iOS, iPhones and iPads because that is where most of their profit stems.

A mistake if you ask me - today's IT landscape is more of an eco-system than a standalone computing world. They've already upset their core user base of "creative professionals" who in my experience act as opinion leaders in this market. Apple are on a very slippery slope if they continue like this.

What happens when you turn it off?

Apple follows the money which any for profit company should do.

Steve Jobs, with his Reality Distortion Field, made Apple great. He knew how to get the most out of his employees and his customers without pushing them past the breaking point.

Unfortunately Steve Jobs is gone and and the cracks are starting to show.

We are left with unfulfilled product expectations, often buyers remorse and an army of tee shirts that have spent little if any time using development, productivity or creative applications on a Mac.

It would appear that the Mac is heading for the exit as Apple and other companies are working fast a furious to push everything into the cloud to leave customers with iOS devices as their only hardware option.

If Apple could figure out how to build a TV that did not cost $10,000 the iMac would be dead already as an Apple TV and your iOS device would take its place.

If you have snap to grid turned on, then turn it off, and then you can move the icons where ever you want too
