Why is iTunes so difficult?

So I have my iTunes account on my house computer but had to go to work today so I took my laptop which has my gf's iTunes on it. I logged out of hers and logged into mine and began to update to 3.0 and it did a back up and everything. It restarted my phone and loe and behold my phone is blank with just the Emergency call crap on it. WHY is iTunes SO stupid with allowing multiple users!!!! Do I have to wait til I get home to redo all this on my own computer??? This is my biggest pet peeve with the iPhone and it drives me nuts. Some help please?

It seems you could have just avoided this frustration by waiting until you got home and updating on your own computer....

why does it have to be that difficult though. Why can't iTunes just do a backup (like it said it was doing), put all your info on that iTunes and do the damn update? Is it REALLY that hard for Apple to do? No.
