Why is modern buckle limited to the smaller size?

what is it that Apple decided to make the modern buckle exclusive to 38mm and leather loop exclusive to 42mm??? Decisions like these really annoy me, all bands should be available in all sizes, without creating exclusives!

Yea I would kill for the leather loop in 38mm

Probably bc modern buckle is more feminine, and females are likely to go with 38mm.

The Milanese Loop is available in both sizes, however, generally speaking, it's consider more of a female band style
