Hello everyone.
Well, I think my EFI is out of date but its tricky to know if it is or isn't. From a security perspective I'm confused as to why I seem out of date and also unable to update!
I have a MacbookPro8,2 (early 2011). Current EFI is shown as MBP81.004D.B00
I think this equates to a full version of MBP81.88Z.004D.B00.1708080655
I tried running eficheck against the allowed list and it couldn't find match! really weird....
I think the latest might be 87.0.0.0.0 (but there are others)
I have also tried to manually flash it with what I think is MBP81.004F.B00 because I was able to obtain this image and tried to apply it to my system using the 'efiupdater' command line tool. This tool recognised it was newer than current EFI and applied it. But then when I rebooted and the system was flashed I think it decided to reverse itself and I am back to existing EFI again.
Any ideas, I'm really not very happy with this. Googling these firmware numbers suggests there are 2011 MacBook Pros out there running all of these?
