Why is my folder view different ?

Ive just been watching a YouTube video about adding colors to Folders, when the guy in the video clicks View he gets this ..

when I click the same View I get this ...

as you can see on my view the bottom option to change the background missing


has any one an idea why my change background option is missing and how to get it back.


I am running 10.6.5

Because you selected 'View Options' When the Desktop was selected. Desktop has slightly different view options.

Open a normal folder that is using icons view and your options should match the video.

The View Options are context-sensitive. That means they change, depending on where you are. Open that View Options window and move it to one side of your screen. Then open Finder and click on your Desktop and other locations and watch the View Options change. Look at the video you were watching and see what is shown in the top bar of the View Options window, to see what was selected. View Options may vary between Leopard and Snow Leopard, as well.
