I just got my G5 back from repair, the hard drive failed and had to be replaced (under warranty).

When I start it up it has this weird pinkish color. It starts during the apple logo screen which used to be light gray I think. Then when its totally booted up it still has a pinkish glow.

What's going on?

Sounds like a bad color connection... do you have an external monitor, or is this an iMac? If it's an external monitor, try powering everything off, then disconnect and reconnect all of the monitor cables and see if the issue still occurs.

If it's an internal monitor (iMac), I don't know what to suggest.

In the Display Preferences, what is the Profile selected (under the Color tab)? It may be worthwhile calibrating your display and creating a new profile. :)

Apple Cinema Display?

If you have a 23" ACD (I think it was this size) they had a problem with displaying everything with a pinkish color. This may be the problem and might not be the G5.

All of this is assuming that you are refering to a G5 (not iMac) in conjunction with an ACD.

That did it ... it was a loose connection. Thanks!
