Why is my iPhone causing my Mac to load Music and start playing?

This is new, since getting my MBA M1. For some reason, using Music on my iPhone (such as to play tunes over a stereo via bluetooth) is causing Music to load on my Mac and start playing music. It's VERY annoying. The most recent example is this morning when I powered off the stereo unit to go someplace, and as soon as I did, Music once again loaded by itself on my Mac and started playing. How do I make this stop short of deleting the app?
