Hi all,

I have the new MacBook Pro 13" with Touch Bar. I have a completely solid state configuration.

Recently, the Mac has been engaging the fan whilst I have been working. Is there any concern for this? Why has it been doing this? I haven't really got any particularly harsh use. For example, at any one time, I have iTunes, Mail, Notes, Messages, FreeChat, FreeChat for FaceBook Messenger and Safari (with seven tabs) open. I do not use any specialist software, such as GarageBand.

Why does it seem as though my Mac is being overworked?

Thank you!

Can you post some screenshots of your activity monitor? Press Command and the Space Bar then type in Activity Monitor and take a look at the usage screens. Some of those chats (and Safari tabs) are absolute memory hogs. Also it may be beneficial to just restart your computer.

Thank you for your quick reply! The fan is off now, I'll get the screenshots when the fan is running.
