Hi there. To anyone that can help; I updated my MacBook 13", Aluminum, Late 2008) laptop last year. It now has 4GB 1067 MHz DDR3 and is a 2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo. I also added a 1TB hard drive. Everything has been working fine, but these last few months it is just dragging! I'm normally using Firefox, iCal, Mail, maybe iTunes and/or iPhoto.

I've tried the Memory Clean app. Normally I have about 20-150MB free. Even when I clean it. I also have over 500GB free on my hard drive and have used the Disk Doctor app as well. I've checked the Activity Monitor too and the kernel_task is always running around 500MB. Any suggestions??

All I want is to be able to use iMovie without videos glitching 24/7 and to be able to open simple programs like Word, Excel, Firefox and Mail.
