Why is my sig so big?

There seems to be a massive gap underneath my sig - it's not there when I preview it on the "make sig" page.

Anyone know why? I don't want to annoy people with a massive sig!

Hmm, on this thread it's about 3 lines deep, earlier today it was about 7. Weird!

Oops, it's back. Can anyone else see this, or is it just showing up on my computer?

Maybe... your Avatar takes a certain minimum height?

So when you only have a one line post, there's a bunch of blank space, but if you have a 6 or 8 line post there won't be any?

It isn't the sig that takes up so much space but rather the part with your avatar and name.

Yes, if it concerns you, delete your avatar.

I am officially an idiot. It's just the avatar. I posted in a thread where no-one else had an avatar and suddenly the gap seemed more obvious!
