Wasn't it supposed to be like natural speech or something? I thought it was supposed to actually be more understanding and much more intelligent. But most of the time it just says the same thing over and over again.

It's more natural as in you can say "What's the weather like today?" or "Will I need an umbrella today?", compared to voice control where you would only be able to say "Tell me the weather.". That may be a bad example, but voice control type services you have a predetermined list of things you can say and if you change one word it doesn't know what to do. Siri figures out what you are talking about and responds correctly (for what it can answer).

Maybe I'm using it wrong, but most of the time, it just says something dumb or unrelated whenever I try to use it.

Leaving us scratching our heads.

I find Siri to work quite well actually. I normally use it for voice calling and getting small bits of info when I need it. With regards to her voice - it's sounding a lot better to me in the later betas of iOS 7.
