Why is the 1 on the tv icon?

Hello. Can someone tell why the 1 is here and how to get rid of it? I’ve watched part of a nature show and a movie but can’t seem to figure out why the 1 is there. Thanks.

You can deactivate the badge app icon in System Preferences﹥Notifications﹥TV app﹥ and uncheck the Badge app icon checkbox.

It's a notification. Could be an App update is available... some show on your watch list has a new episode... any number of things can generate the notification.

Hmmm. I just tried your suggestion and I didn’t see a notification option for Apple TV.

I got it. I removed it from the dock and when I put it back it was gone. Thanks.
