I have the 11, it’s a great phone I won’t lie but it’s not something you wanna browse the internet with or use like a computer the screen is pretty bad compared to galaxies.

Great communication device but not really for leisure activities screen is so horrible I have a hard time using the phone for more than 10 minutes.

Jumping to the max would run me about 400 bucks plus the hassle of selling this phone.

Wish apple made a better screen for the basic model.

I guess this “problem” comes from directly comparing iPhone 11 screen to other phones. Different people have different screen expectations. I am on iPhone 11 and have no issues with it at all. On a positive side, if you really don’t like its quality, you can still find an 8 Plus while waiting a few months for iPhone 12.

For me, iPhone 11 screen was initially too bright, so I reduced its White Point, making it warmer and less glaring in my face. Disabling attention focus features of FaceID helped too.

I know the type of screen and resolution from all the material out there, and it’s probably why I wouldn’t upgrade from my 8 Plus.

Given you knew the same, why did you get one?

200 dollar gift card signing up with visible wireless. I had android for years and I couldn’t type to save my life, iOS is just much better overall.

My issue is I’m used to using my phone for a hour in bed before I got sleep but the iPhone is seriously lacking compared to android when using it as a pc.

I’m just using to downloading files, multitasking, YouTube and all that from a phone and I think iOS is more a really good communication device but it’s not a computer.

All the browsers such and Firefox for iOS doesn’t allow extensions like on android.

I’ve been side browsing the iPhone as a tech enthusiast for years, I’ve never heard one person ever mention the ‘display is bad‘. Apple‘s LCD/OLED displays have excellent calibration, brightness with color accuracy. I find your complaints baseless, it’s not like Apple even has a ‘bad history’ of iPhone displays, and it’s actually probably complete opposite of what you’re saying, which is their strongest suit with the iPhone from my perspective.

I'm not sure if your complaint is that you don't like the screen or it's not a computer? You said iOS is better than Android (for typing?) but it's also lacking (not sure what). Your post is a bit confusing but if you're needing a PC why don't you get a small laptop? There are plenty of good Chromebooks and Windows computers for under 500 USD.

What does it have to do with the screen quality then? This sounds more like iOS vs Android issue. Each system has its pluses & minuses and you can sell your iPhone 11 and get a really good Android phone for that price, while still keeping your gift card benefits.

Sounds like you picked the wrong iPhone for you man, maybe try a XS Max? Although it’s battery life won’t be good as the 11.

What exactly are you trying to do?

I’m pretty happy with my 11 Pro Max, I can download files and multitask (Nomulti window though) but everything else you described is doable on an iPhone.

Is there something more you are not telling us?

No I guess how I use my phone is more suited to how I used my pc I do a lot of forums and look at the screen alo and the screen just lacks colors and looks dim. I’m just used to Samsung’s kinda overkill when it comes to color saturation, that’s all.

Anyways not a big deal iPhone is clearly a superior iOS that I like and will stick with.

Go to Settings- Display & Text Size - Colour Filters - Select Blue/Yellow Filter and adjust it to something you may like

On my 11 Pro Max I like it at around this setting:

EDIT:

Go to Settings- Accessibility - Display & Text Size - Colour Filters - Select Blue/Yellow Filter and adjust it to something you may like

You'll get your wish with the base 12 models. And it's fine for browsing the internet, you need 1440p for Reddit? It's for media consumption movies/games where it won't be as good.

Many people can see very minor issues with text sharpness on the sub-1080p lcd iPhones. Doesn’t mean anything is wrong, but you see that a lot on here where people say the text just isn’t sharp enough.

Many people? I don’t even know what that means, nor can conclude whats considered ‘many’. I guess that’s like me saying in opposition ‘Very few people can see very minor issues with text sharpness on the sub- 1080p LCD iPhone.’

If you want to talk realistically, from a consumer standpoint, Apple displays are very good. That is simplified as someone can make it, without looking at the irregularities of something about 1080P displays, text sharpness, that consumers have no idea what they’re looking for. Try to keep it Realistic from an ‘average consumer‘ standpoint.

I guess I should have said that when it comes to complaints about the xr/11, the majority of them are people complaining that the text looks a bit fuzzy. Colors are excellent, even if they don’t get as bright as an oled. I have zero issues with an lcd IPhone, but some people with better eyes than me claim they can’t read the text as easily.

The average customer wouldn't have an issue with the display. I'm not the average customer. The average customer wouldn't be on a forum like this nit picking.

I have to say my eyesight is pretty good, no need for glasses at 37 years old and I really have to study the screen on a XR/11 to see blurry text. Even then you have to focus in to see it around the edges. I think it’s one of those things that’s been pointed out among tech enthusiasts and people now look for it whereas most people wouldn’t notice it normally. Quite a few of my friends now have XR/11’s and when I ask how they are liking the phone it’s usually a ‘yeah it’s really good’ with the odd ‘not having a button is a bit of a pain’ lol. I never hear complaints about the screen.

What is the problem then? Is it the screen you don’t like or is it the OS?
This is first time I heard someone complains about the lcd quality of the 11 (or xr, since they’re the same lcd). Moreover I’ve always heard praise of quality of the lcd in the 11. Go figure.

Word. I’m contemplating getting my dad an xr or 11. It’s a great upgrade for his 7plus.

Yes, it's true, phones are still not as capable as computers.

Non-average customers would likely be happier with Pro models.

I believe most people are fine with the iPhone 11 screen. Looking at it compared to an iPhone 8, it’s pretty similar to me. But I personally don’t like the 11 and I wouldn’t go back to an 8 or earlier. I’m happy with the oled on my iPhone X. It’s about the same for my wife’s 11 Pro. There’s a big resolution bump that I wouldn’t want to give up. The screens in Samsung’s Galaxy phones are often high res using oled. Yes they oversaturate their colors, but that resolution boost makes a difference if you’re directly comparing to an iPhone 11 and can see the difference. I think Apple’s HDR is better than Samsung too. It really comes down to your preference. If you aren’t happy with the 11, but you like iOS then trade in for a 11 pro or XS. The screen difference might make you happier.

As for multitasking on iOS... good luck with that one. You’re better off with an iPad mini or something. Apple isn’t likely to allow more than one app on screen for phones for a while. Switching apps is pretty quick though, so newer models with 3GB of RAM do well at flipping between apps without reloading.

Samsung AMOLED would be like “they can copy but they can’t take my place” 😜
