Mine was like that too, if I'm understanding what you're saying. If I tilted the phone with the bottom end closer to me that the top, I could see that the top right side was slightly higher than the left as more light was being emitted. Some sort of common manufacturing defect it seems like. (I replaced mine since and it is now even.)

Cool so in the US you can just take it to the Apple store for that and they'll replace it if you're still under warranty?

First, you thought you shouldn't upgrade every year or two because the iphone is the JesusPhone, then you got "bored" with it, saying you want something new, now this? Geez.
